TAKATA was founded in 1933, over in Japan by Takezo Takada, and started to produce lifelines for parachutes as well as other textile products. During the early 1950's, they started to research seat belts and later they incorporated as "TAKATA".
In the 1960's, TAKATA started selling seat belts and built Japan's first crash test plant for testing seatbelts under real world conditions. TAKATA later developed child restraint systems in the early 1970's, and in the 1980's TAKATA changed their name to "TAKATA Corporation". Doing so allowed TAKATA to expand internationally, selling their safety products to the likes of Korea, United States, and United Kingdom.
Since 1996, TAKATA have manufacturing FIA approved Motorsport racing harnesses under the most stringent quality testing, and offer the optimum combination between comfort & safety to top race teams in Japan and world-wide. Today, the TAKATA harness is widely known in the Japanese racing and performance car tuning world, and are a top choice for racing, track day & road use.
